Club/Community Account

All Applicants must be Members of Cairde Credit Union Limited. To open an account the following is required: 

  1. A Letter from the Secretary of the Club authorising the named persons to open and operate the account, stating the source of the funds (E.G Wages, Business, Fundraising etc.)

  2. Account must be opened in the name of a club, community group or unincorporated body, NOT an individual.

  3. The letter must also state the purpose of the account (Saving etc)

You will be asked:

  • The source of the funds for the Account are? E.g. Wages, Business etc

  • The purpose of the Account? E.g. Savings, Borrowing, Saving on Bank Charges etc.

  • Submitting groups must provide:

    • A copy of the group’s agreed rules or constitution.

    • Photo ID and proof of address for Chairperson, Secretary and all signatories.

    • An up-to-date list of all committee/officials with names and addresses, signed by Chair & Secretary.

Required for each of the Signatories:

  • Photo I.D – Valid Passport / Driving Licence.

  • Proof of Address: Official documentation showing Name & Address which is dated within the last 3 months.

  • Proof Of PPS – Payslip, P60, European Health Insurance Card.

  • If your entity is a relevant trust registered with the Central Register of Beneficial Ownership (CRBOT) then we will require certain information.

  • €6.35 to activate and retain Membership.

* Please note CCU will not accept a Public Service Card as documentation for verification.

  • Once your application and documentation have been submitted, our membership officer will contact you within the next number of days.

The application cannot be fully completed online. Please fill out the form, complete it, and return it — along with the required identification and documentation — to any of our five offices.

Things to note for a Community/Club Account: 

  • A minimum of two authorised signatories are required for withdrawals.

  • Chairperson and Secretary are jointly authorised to close the account.

  • The group is required to notify the Credit Union in writing of any changes in provided information.
