Community Initiative Fund 2025 Recipients Announced
Cairde Credit Union is proud to announce the recipients of the Community Initiative Fund 2025, with a total of €90,000 awarded to six organisations across our common bond area.
The Community Initiative Fund was established to support local groups, clubs, schools and organisations delivering projects that create a lasting and positive impact within our communities. In 2025, a total fund of €100,000 was made available to invest in meaningful projects that promote community wellbeing, inclusion and development.
Following a strong level of interest and a high number of applications, six projects were selected by the Community Initiative Fund Committee, each reflecting the values and ethos of Cairde Credit Union.
The successful recipients are:
- St. John’s Special School, Dungarvan – funding towards a school bus to support student transport and inclusion
- Fiontar Pobail, An Rinn – funding to complete a community all-weather sports facility
- KGK Community Ltd., Knockanore / Glendine / Kilwatermoy – funding for the development of a new community playground
- Dungarvan Hockey Club – funding towards perimeter fencing as part of a new astro turf facility development
- St. Brigid’s Hall, Killrossanty – funding for upgrades to the community hall
- Modeligo Community Centre – funding for heating and insulation improvements to enhance their hall facilities
The remaining €10,000 from the fund will be carried forward to the next round of funding, ensuring continued support for future community projects.
These projects represent a wide range of initiatives — from enhancing local facilities and supporting sport and recreation, to improving accessibility and strengthening community connections.
At Cairde Credit Union, we are committed to investing in our communities and supporting initiatives that make a real difference. The Community Initiative Fund is a reflection of this commitment, helping to build stronger, more connected communities across our region.
